What is that black spot?
"I want to send u 2 very interesting pics my friend took, and they have something to do with space, but out of 8 ppl at dinner yesterday, none of us was able to figure out what it was....maybe u can help?" Q left a comment in my previous post, and some of you may want to know what pictures he was talking about. This picture was taking by his friend using one of Nokia mobile phones. That's black spot on the sun is a sunspot which is a dark spot, some as large as 50,000 miles in diameter, move across the surface of the sun, contracting and expanding as they go" . I think his friend took this picture between January 15th-21st, 2005. Am I right, Q? when a giant sunspot breaks and making magnificent aurora on the North. For more information check NASA website. The second picture was taking by my sister (Sony Ericsson P800) last October. Me and my sister reacted the same way that Q and his friends did ;)

I know you are big on NASA, but check out Bert Rutan. He's the fellow who put together the two flights into space with a privately funded venture. He has a long history of taking aviation in different direction. I built an airplane, an ultralight airplane, based on one of his designs. It was sleek, flew well and fast! Also, with him you are not working with government, which has to be a plus.
The two fellows who took his "space craft" into space, by the way did so in seemingly "civilian" looking space suits, without all the gear NASA cooks up for its flights.
